Harvey Collins
“The keys to success are
professional skills, hard work, self-discipline and good
relationship skills. Ambition is an important element, but it
needs to be melded with grace and humility. Coaching provides a
framework for reinforcement and review of all of these
elements.”
With a
thirty-year career in banking and finance, Harvey has seen the
peaks and lows of market conditions in the finance sector.
As Chief
Financial Officer for the West Australian-based Challenge Bank,
Harvey had executive responsibility for the bank’s treasury,
finance, corporate strategy and investor relations functions. He
was also responsible for managing major equity and debt raisings
in the Australian and international capital markets.
In addition to
his operational banking experience, Harvey has extensive
experience in managing key stakeholder relationships including
institutional investors, industry bodies and government and
regulatory authorities.
His personal
resilience is built on the foundations of this experience. For
Harvey coaching is a powerful tool in building his clients’
resilience. Harvey believes “a life lived well is a life that is
physically, emotionally and spiritually healthy, and it is a
life lived well in a range of contexts – personal, family,
community and business.”
As a coach, he
enables his clients to explore the various aspects of their life
and develop frameworks for maintaining overall life health with
a focus on achieving their business and personal goals.
Harvey’s
experience as a director includes appointments as Chairman of
Bankwest Limited and listed international education services
provider, Navitas, and Verve Energy. Harvey is also
International President of Hagar International, an international
NGO working with women and children who are victims of severe
human rights abuses, with a focus on personal and social
rehabilitation as well as economic empowerment.
Harvey’s
diverse experience has given him the ability to get across
issues quickly and see the whole picture.
Harvey and his
wife Heather have seven adult children and a growing brood of
grandchildren. Harvey enjoys reading, music, photography and
travel.
