Mike Pratt
“I
have had the benefit of working across multiple geographies,
multiple nationalities and cultures. I have led thousands of
employees, but I have never forgotten the power of one-to-one
relationships.”
Mike understands the
importance of context in problem definition and the
identification of 'blind spots' which may in fact be critical to
the decisions we have made and the paths we may have chosen.
"Coaching allows senior executives to have a
broader perspective of the issues and address the challenges at
hand through a different lens."
Vast is the best word to describe Mike Pratt’s
experience in banking and financial services, with senior
appointments in Australia, New Zealand and China.
Most recently, Mike was Regional Head of Consumer
and Business Banking for Standard Chartered Bank, North-East
Asia, based in Shanghai and covering mainland China, Hong Kong,
Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
Mike’s former executive roles have included his
role as CEO of Australian financial services for the National
Australia Bank, where he was in charge of the bank’s Australian
business which achieved market leadership in client relationship
management, business banking and market share growth. Mike was
CEO of Bank of New Zealand and group executive for Westpac’s
business and consumer banking business in Australia, and CEO of
the Bank of Melbourne.
Mike brings to
his coaching a wealth of leadership experience in both executive
and non-executive director appointments including Executive
Director of the Standard Chartered Bank Boards in Hong Kong and
China Chairman of Shenzhen PrimeCredit Limited. His board
appointments have also included Mastercard International and BT
Financial Services and he is a former President of the
Australian Institute of Banking and Finance.
In his post executive life Mike’s principal goal
is to continue to make a difference to others and to take new
challenges.
For Mike “relationships are what matters beyond
all else in life.” Married to Caroline, he credits his three
wonderful daughters with teaching him what is really important
and he also enjoys being an active cricket, rugby and AFL
spectator.
